Shooting an infomercial for a Remote Dimmer Switch
(that is; a device that allows you to turn your light on
or off, or dim them with your TV or VCR remote)
offered challenges. One being that the scenes
needed to take place at night, but shot in the day.
The small light will throw off a blue
cast on the actors, and a small
cloth waved in front will help create
the illusion that said light is coming
off of the big-screen TV.

We had to black-out all windows that
were on camera to create the illusion
of nighttime; such as this dining
room scene seen from inside and
outside.

'dream-sequence' (who
says infomercials can't be
fun)
We scripted this infomercial to have a healthy-dose of humor and
not take itself too seriously, so it included several
"dream-sequences" in which the host found himself in imaginary
roles (with the obligatory "dream-smoke" from a smoke-machine).
